"A Summer at the Museum"
TOURING AROUND WASHINGTON DC will be our focus this summer! Our themes will be about "The Fine Arts," "Making History," "Air & Space," and "Hands on Science." Our museums offer endless opportunities to stimulate the curiousity of the young child. We will help them discover many of the treasures that our museums hold. Throughout the summer we will be reading many books to help the children learn and understand the importance of the world around them and how things are connected. Specifically, we will be learning about the Renaissance & Impressionist periods & Modern Art; History including Medieval Times & Ancient Egypt; Planets, Stars & Rocket Ships, as well as Dinosaurs, Ecology & Mad Science Experiments! We will integrate these topics into our circle times and centers along with special lessons that relate to the weekly theme. Each week, we will also have different science experiments, cooking activities, songs, and special outdoor activities to help us learn all about "A Summer at the Museum." |

Throughout the summer we will enjoy picnic lunches and relaxed outdoor play. The children will also work in our garden for planting adventures.
Each week will be complete in itself, as we delve into the "fun" side of A Summer at the Museum, a tour of Washington DC! After all the fun we have at MCA, your children will certainly be asking you to take them to visit the museums! What an exciting and unique way to stretch the inquisitive and creative sides our children possess. And most importantly, each week will be filled with FUN! FUN! FUN! |
