CCA Themes for Summer 2010

Watch out, get ready!  We will spending our "Summer at the Museum!"   It will be a fun-filled action packed summer.   The children will enjoy fun art, musical and outdoor activities based on our terrific themes.

Our first session will explore "The Fine Arts."  We will view many famous works of art, experiment with different mediums and learn about the lives of some of our most incredible artists.  The children will get to explore the arts in a thoroughly hands on way!

The second session is entitled "American History."  The children will learn the exciting history of our nation.  We will explore different periods in time like the colonial times and the industrial revolution through the art, clothing and customs of the times.

Our third session is out of this world!  The children will learn about "Air and Space."  We will conduct experiments, play games and have cooking activities all related to the exploration of outer space.

Finally, our last session is "Rockin’ Dinosaurs!"  We will learn about different types of dinosaurs, where they lived and how they have been discovered.  After all, "How do we know so much about dinosaurs when we have never seen a live one?"  We'll answer that question. It will be great fun!

All of these topics will be integrated into our circle times, centers, specials and special lessons that relate directly to the weekly theme.  Each week we will have different science experiments, cooking activities, songs and special outdoor activities to help us experience a "Summer at the Museum!"

Throughout the summer we will enjoy picnic lunches and relaxed outdoor play.  The children will also have an opportunity to work in our garden for planting adventures.

Each week will be complete in and of itself.  So you can feel free to join us for individual weeks in different sessions or you can sign up for an entire session.  The decision is yours.

This will be an exciting and unique way to stretch the imaginations of the children.   Most importantly each week will be filled with FUN! FUN! FUN!
