"MCA International Festival"

Our theme for our fun-filled summer will be our MCA International Festival.

Each session we will explore a different region as we learn the area’s culture, customs, childhood games, arts, and music.  The children will have the opportunity to cook and taste local foods from each region, in addition to world geography lessons as part of your child’s traveling passport.

Our first session will include Adventures in Africa, focusing on Central Africa and the Jungle, Northern Africa, Egypt, and the Desert, and Southern Africa and Madagascar. 

We’ll then travel to the Americas where we'll explore South America, Mexico, and Central America.  During the week of July 4^th, we'll focus on the USA and Hawaiian traditions. 

From the Americas, we’ll sail across the Pacific to explore Asia, where we’ll discover the customs, music, and foods of China, Japan, Korea, and Pakistan.  Our final session will take us north to Europe, traveling through France, Germany, England, Ireland, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Spain, Greece, and Italy.

Each day we will learn about the region we are focusing on through art, cooking, geography and science. In addition to our individual passports, we will plot our fantastic voyage on a world map so the children have a visual reference of our location in relation to Virginia.

Throughout the summer we will enjoy picnic lunches, walks to the local park and playground, splash and swim days, and the joys of just being a child!  The children will also explore our garden for hands-on planting experiences.

Each week will excite the senses as we experience new cultures, taste diverse foods, and listen to and create cultural music.  It will be the trip of a lifetime through our imaginations, so get on board!!

What an exciting and unique way to stretch the inquisitive and creative sides our children possess. And most importantly, each week will be filled with FUN! FUN! FUN!
